Tests: How do I create a test in LEARN? (video)

Andrew -

Overview:

Creating a test in LEARN requires this content:

  1. General Properties.
  2. Test Questions.
  3. Test Delivery.

To create a new test:

To access Tests at any time, follow this path: Settings. Select your organization. → LEARN/Tests.

In Manages Tests, all existing tests will appear.  To create a new test, click Add New.

General Properties:

Complete the following fields:

  1. Test Title is required. Notice you can click Add Spanish Translation for this field.
  2. Description is required.  Notice you can click Add Spanish Translation for this field.
  3. Estimated Time to Complete is not required, however, it is recommended to provide Team Members with an indication of how long the test will take to complete.

Test Questions:

Click Test Questions.

To add a new question, click Create a Question.

  • Note: You can use Create a Question to create as many questions as necessary.  Each new question will be added to the bottom of the list.  You cannot rearrange the questions after you’ve created them, so you’ll want to create the questions in the order you’d want the questions to appear on the test.

There are three types of questions you can create:

A. Multiple Choice
B. True/False
C. Matching

A. For Multiple Choice Questions, you will need to complete the following fields:

  • Question Text is required.
  • Question Type of Multiple Choice is required.
  • Enter as many Answers as needed.  Click Add Another if additional fields are needed.
  • Click the checkbox next to Allow multiple answer selections, if applicable.
  • Use the drop-down next to Indicate Correct Answer(s) to select the correct answer(s).
  • Notice that you can click Add Spanish Translation if needed.

B. For True/False Questions, you will need to complete the following fields:

  • Question Text is required.
  • Question Type of True/False is required.
  • You will enter a True label such as True or Yes.
  • You will enter a False label such as False or No.
  • Use the drop-down next to Indicate Correct Answer(s) to select the correct answer(s).
  • Notice that you can click Add Spanish Translation if needed.

C. For Matching Questions, you will need to complete the following fields:

  • Question Text is required.
  • Question Type of Matching is required.
  • Enter as many labels and matching answers as needed.  Click Add Another if additional fields are needed.
  • Notice that you can click Add Spanish Translation if needed.

Once you have created various questions, you can use Choose From Library to select questions if needed.  Every question you create will be available for future use from your Question Library.

New tests are Inactive by default. To make the course Active, change the status to On.
You must have at least one test question entered in order to make the test active.

Test Delivery:

Click Test Delivery. Complete the following fields:

  1. Question Pool:
      • If you choose Deliver All Questions, all questions will appear to the Team Member.
      • If you select Deliver a Question Pool, you will have to indicate how many questions will appear on the test.

2.  I would like to offer these questions in a random order:

      • If you want to offer the questions in a random order, click the checkbox next to I would like to offer these questions in a random order.
      • If you want to offer the questions in the order you created them, do not check this box.

3.  I would like this test to be timed:

      • If you want the test to be completed in a certain amount of time, click the checkbox next to I would like this test to be timed.  You will need to indicate the specific amount of time.
      • If you do not want the test to be timed, do not check this box.

4.  Passing Score: Indicate the required number of correct questions.
